Weil is delighted to announce the election of Mark Lawford to the firm’s partnership, with effect from 1 January, 2014.
Mark joined the London restructuring team as a senior associate in 2012. His practice includes advising a broad range of clients such as insolvency practitioners, US and European investment banks, UK clearing banks, hedge funds and private equity houses among others, on insolvency litigation, cross-border insolvencies and restructurings, and out-of-court restructurings.
London head of restructuring, Adam Plainer, commented, “Mark’s promotion to partnership is well-deserved and is a reflection of his excellent work and terrific client skills. Since joining the firm, he has acted as lead senior associate on some of the most significant work in the London market, including MF Global and Lehman. Mark’s promotion is excellent news for the group and further bolsters our London team and its strong position in the market.”
The London restructuring practice is ranked by the Chambers UK 2014 legal directory as “Elite” and is recognised for managing some of the largest, most complex restructurings and insolvencies in the UK and global market. In addition to our ground-breaking work leading the landmark MF Global and Lehman Brothers mandates, we also advise a broad client base in the UK and globally that includes private equity houses, hedge funds, debtors and creditors, directors, senior, mezzanine and subordinated lenders, purchasers and sellers of distressed assets.
