Global law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges was recognized in this year’s FT Innovative Lawyers Report as among the “Most Innovative Firms in Finance Law” for its restructuring work for MF Global UK. The report, which was released today, singles out Weil for establishing “the model for future special administration rules bankruptcy cases in the historic MF Global bankruptcy.” In advising MF Global, Weil initiated the first-ever filing under the UK’s Special Administration Regime and obtained approval of a distribution plan for the return of client assets.
The report also quotes Weil’s Marco Compagnoni, a senior partner in the firm’s London office, in the section on cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
The FT Innovative Lawyers Report, now in its seventh year, highlights how law firms are contributing fresh thinking and practice to business around the world.
