Weil was awarded “Restructuring Team of the Year” at the Legal Business Awards 2016 for its work on the ground-breaking Ukraine sovereign debt restructuring deal.
Weil advised on Ukraine’s $18 billion sovereign debt restructuring – it advised the ad hoc creditors’ committee (“AHC”) which consisted of four members, including Ukraine’s single largest bondholder, Franklin Templeton, and represented approximately $10 billion of the $22 billion being restructured.
The Weil team was led by restructuring partner Andrew Wilkinson, supported by a team of lawyers across its London and New York offices.
It was Legal Business’ 19th annual awards ceremony, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London. The Legal Business awards recognize the leading individuals and teams in the legal industry.
